Smoking is a really bad habit, and once you start smoking, it is hard to stop. Sometimes you might wonder why is smoking so bad for you? When you smoke you can have some short, and long term effects. These effects are very bad for your body.

Here is a short list of some of the effects skin wrinkles, stained fingers and hands, your blood pressure is increased, you can have trouble with breathing, and it increases your chances with getting lung cancer.

With all of these scary effects I am sure that you can see why smoking is bad for you. These tips below might help you stop.

Pick a date of when you are going to stop, and just do it. Write it down somewhere. Tell a friend, and stick with it.

After you pick a date of when to stop, and you do it, make sure that you have confidence in yourself, and tell yourself that you can do it.

Sometimes making lists of why you want to quit is another awesome way of reassuring yourself, and bringing confidence so that you can stop.

The urge might still be very strong sometimes. When it is get something to drink, but don't get any food. Read a book, or watch movies. It will pass. Call up your friends, and tell them that you are having the urge to smoke. Most times they will try their best to encourage you not to smoke, and stay on the phone with you.

Just remember, that you can overcome this, and that you can do it!
